Job description

When you work as a Sr Specialist, Warehouse & Inventory in Lab Operations Support at KCAS, you get to further our mission by leading inventory, logistics, and material flow operations that enable successful study execution. You will fill a key operational role responsible for ensuring efficient warehouse operations and driving process improvements that support laboratory throughput and scalability.

Our Lab Operations Support team supports all laboratory functions by managing inventory, logistics, and supply chain operations to ensure that scientific teams have the materials they need to execute studies efficiently and in compliance with regulatory expectations.

In this role, we will rely on you to:
  • Lead daily warehouse and inventory operations, including receiving, storage, distribution, and order fulfillment, serving as the primary point of contact for internal customers
  • Oversee inventory control processes, including cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation, ensuring high levels of accuracy and availability
  • Manage and coordinate material flow across suppliers, internal departments, and laboratory teams to ensure timely delivery and operational continuity
  • Partner with Procurement and Operations to align supply chain activities with study timelines and business priorities
  • Train staff, ensuring adherence to safety standards, SOPs, and operational protocols
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements, maintaining a constant state of audit readiness
  • Conduct safety self-inspections and oversee proper handling of hazardous, controlled, or specialized materials
  • Analyze inventory and operational metrics to identify trends, drive process improvements, and optimize cost and efficiency
  • Identify and implement improvements related to stock management, material flow, and workspace organization
  • Support vendor-related activities, including sourcing, quote requests, and supply continuity planning
  • Maintain accurate data and reporting within inventory and warehouse management systems
  • Serve as a key operational liaison across departments to ensure alignment and communication of supply chain priorities
  • Perform all aspects of the job in a way that supports company brand and supports company mission, vision, and values
To qualify for this role, you will have:
  • High school diploma with at least 3+ years of related experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or inventory management
  • Strong understanding of inventory control, material flow, and warehouse operations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to understand and interpret complex operational and inventory data and advise on optimization strategies
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with inventory or warehouse management systems (e.g., Quickbase) preferred
  • Experience with inventory or warehouse management in a regulated environment, ideally utilizing an Electronic Laboratory Notebook or Laboratory Information Management System strongly preferred
  • Experience maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written procedures and verbal instructions
  • Familiarity with Safety Data Sheets (SDS), chemical hazard labeling, and proper material handling
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple teams and stakeholders
