AVS Bio Crew Team Lead
Location: Catskill, NY

Job Overview
Supervise and participate in house recycles and related repairs; assign and monitor work of crew members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supervise and participate in house recycles; disassemble house and related equipment; wash, repair, sanitize and reassemble house.
  • Perform minor equipment repair.
  • Monitor job performance of fellow crew members and suggest improvements when needed.
  • Interact closely with Farm Managers and Maintenance.
  • Assign work to crew members.
  • Prepare recycling reports.
  • Assist with flock removal.
  • Communicate directly with Supervisor.
  • Occasionally fill in for house manager.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.).
  • Experience:1-2 years related experience and/or training. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
  • Certification/Licensure: Valid driver s license.
  • Other: Basic maintenance skills.

Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places; in outside weather conditions; in hot/cold environmental temperatures; and is frequently exposed to chemicals and odors.

  • What animal contact is permitted? Permitted animals include dogs, cats, fish, and traditional farm animals (horses, cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, llamas/alpacas). Employees may not handle raw or frozen meat or poultry products before work.
  • How is biosecurity enforced? All candidates must complete a Biosecurity & Animal Ownership Disclosure Form prior to hire and certify ongoing compliance. Violations or falsification may result in disciplinary action up to and including immediate termination.
