Job description

Compensation: $22-$23.50/hr

Location: Primarily remote, with 2 days per week at our downtown Austin, TX office.

The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) is the worldโ€™s largest anti-fraud organization and a global leader in anti-fraud training and certification.

In this role, you will support the organization's billing operations by processing invoices and payments, maintaining customer accounts, responding to billing inquiries, and ensuring the accuracy of billing records and related transactions.

Essential Functions:

  1. Processes purchase orders, invoices, and invoice cancellations in an accurate and timely manner.
  2. Applies and reconciles incoming payments received from various sources.
  3. Ensures billing accuracy on invoices, including the proper application of taxes and applicable charges.
  4. Responds to internal and external customer billing inquiries and requests, including maintaining and updating customer information within billing portals.
  5. Interprets, communicates, and applies company policies, accounting procedures, and billing guidelines in response to customer and employee inquiries.
  6. Generates, reviews, and distributes monthly customer invoices, billing reports, and account statements.
  7. Assists with projects, system enhancements, testing, and ongoing tasks related to the billing platform.
  8. Processes monthly membership terminations and ensures associated billing records are updated accurately.
  9. Identifies, investigates, and resolves billing discrepancies and account issues.
  10. Communicates with customers regarding account credits, adjustments, and billing-related matters.
  11. Performs other duties as requested or required.

Requirements:

  1. 1-3 years of experience in billing functions and/or accounting. Four years of High school resulting in a diploma or GED required.
  2. Associateโ€™s degree in Business, Accounting, or equivalent field a plus.
  3. Experience with customer portal onboarding processes preferred.
  4. Ability to learn, navigate, and effectively perform job responsibilities across multiple software applications simultaneously.
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  6. Proven skills in organizing work, attending to detail, managing time effectively, and handling multiple tasks in a timely manner.
  7. Skilled in collaborating with internal and external resources.
  8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Teams, PowerPoint, and Excel.
