Lawyers on Demand, a Consilio Company, is seeking a CONTRACT Billing Operations Assistant for an assignment with one of our leading international law firm clients.

Start: Late July

Pay Rate: $25/hr

Location: Remote, those residing on the West Coast preferred

Duration: Late July through September, with potential for extension and possible contract-to-hire opportunity, though not guaranteed

Our client, a leading international law firm, is seeking 2–3 motivated professionals to join a high-profile billing transformation project. This is an exceptional opportunity for recent college graduates or early-career professionals looking to launch a career in legal billing, finance operations, or professional services while gaining exposure to cutting-edge technology and large-scale business transformation initiatives.

The firm is currently implementing a new paperless pro forma billing system designed to streamline processes, reduce manual work, and enhance support for attorneys and clients. As part of this initiative, the team is seeking detail-oriented individuals to assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT), quality control reviews, and system validation activities. This role offers hands-on experience with change management, process improvement, and legal technology within a highly respected global organization.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

The Billing Operations Assistant will support the firm's billing transformation project by executing test scripts, reviewing system outputs, validating billing workflows, and documenting results throughout the UAT process. Successful candidates will play a key role in ensuring the new platform functions as expected before full implementation.

  • Execute user acceptance testing (UAT) scripts and scenarios
  • Perform quality control reviews and validate system functionality
  • Identify, document, and communicate system issues or discrepancies
  • Review billing-related workflows and outputs for accuracy
  • Assist with testing of new paperless billing processes and enhancements
  • Track results and maintain testing documentation in spreadsheets and project tools
  • Support change management initiatives as the firm transitions to new technology
  • Collaborate with billing, finance, and project teams to ensure successful implementation
  • Provide feedback on process improvements and user experience

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred
  • 1-2 years of billing, finance, accounting, legal support, or related professional experience
  • Experience with Elite 3E
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Comfortable working within Excel and tracking data in spreadsheets
  • Customer service experience is a plus
  • Ability to follow detailed testing scripts and procedures
