Job description

Infusion Solutions of Delaware (ISD) is seeking an experienced, dependable Medical Biller to join our team. This position will focus primarily on claims posting and follow-up, denial management, and patient billing. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working to ensure claims are processed accurately and outstanding balances are addressed promptly, persistent in resolving denials, attentive to reimbursement accuracy, and committed to maintaining an efficient and patient-friendly billing process.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Post and reconcile insurance payments, adjustments, and denials accurately.
  • Assist with Prior Authorizations
  • Review outstanding and denied claims and take appropriate action to obtain payment.
  • Research denial reasons and submit corrected claims, reconsiderations, or appeals as appropriate.
  • Follow up with insurance carriers regarding unpaid, underpaid, or incorrectly processed claims.
  • Identify recurring denial or reimbursement issues and escalate trends when appropriate.
  • Generate and send patient statements.
  • Review patient balances and respond to patient billing questions.
  • Correct billing errors and maintain accurate account documentation.
  • Work with authorization, clinical, and administrative staff to resolve claim issues.
  • Maintain timely and accurate follow-up on assigned accounts while protecting patient confidentiality and complying with HIPAA requirements.
Qualifications
  • Prior medical billing or healthcare revenue-cycle experience.
  • Experience with insurance claim follow-up and denial management strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Medicare and commercial insurance billing.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies.
  • Comfortable communicating with insurance companies and patients regarding billing matters.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage a workload independently and follow issues through to resolution.
  • Experience with electronic medical records and practice-management/billing systems preferred.
