Job Description:

Busy Gastroenterology Medical Office in Miami and Homestead is looking for a Medical Assistant. This is a full time position. The ideal candidate for this position must be bilingual in English and Spanish, as well as energetic, Multi-Tasked, Excellent Customer Service Skills & Detailed Oriented Individual.

The candidate must have at least 1 year experience in working in a Medical office. Scheduling of endoscopy procedures. Data entry, heavy phones, confirm appointments. Working knowledge of E Clincal works (ECW) a plus.

.Responsibilities:

- All duties of a medical assistant.- Take vitals, patient history and reason for seeking care.- Prepare exam rooms for the physicians, Prior Authorization,Refills.
- Provide great customer service.

Job Requirements

Qualifications/Skills:

- Medical Assistant Certification
- Minimum of 1 years of experience.
- GI experience preferred.
- Great customer service skills.
- Flexible and a team-player.

Duties and Responsibilities: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO

  • Room patients, obtain vitals, patient history and reason for seeking care.
  • Follow prescription refill procedures.
  • Maintain patient records confidentially.
  • Record patient charges and lab charges for billing department.
  • Assist the provider with patient education pertaining to their ongoing health care:
    • Results of lab and x-ray reports.
    • Laboratory and radiology preparation.
  • Must be able to recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situations per protocols.
  • Maintain work area, exam rooms, supplies, medications and immunizations.
  • Perform basic triage per specific office protocol procedures.
  • Maintain professional appearance and personal conduct at all times.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff and management.
  • Effectively cope with typical job stress.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Medical Assistant Certification. (preferred).
  • CPR certification. (preferred)
