Job description

The Billing Manager is responsible for the billing team and supervises the collecting, posting, and managing billing paperwork to ensure accurate and timely accounting and submittal to customers. Primary duty consists of performing office work directly related to the general business of InterCon Construction and their customers. Work includes the exercise of discretion and independent judgement with respect to matters of significance.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of revenue and billing.
  • Monitor AR and WIP aging and follow up with customers and contract supervisors on status.
  • Lead user of company applications to bring field billing data into accounting ERP as well as all customer billing applications.
  • Review weekly field reporting to verify payroll and customer billings are assigned to correct jobs.
  • Review job cost and revenue report weekly and research anomalies.
  • Maintain and update customer contracted rates in accounting system.
  • Understand and comply with multi-state sales tax requirements
  • Leadership of the billing team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
  • Minimum of an Associate's degree in Accounting is required, but Bachelors degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a billing, or similar accounting role.
  • Ability to work successfully in a deadline-driven environment with frequent interruptions
  • Proficiency with Excel
  • Ability to adapt to new software with minimal training
  • Strong attention to detail and strong organizational skills required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate professionally with other departments, field personnel, and customers.
  • Viewpoint or similar software experience preferred.
  • Construction accounting experience preferred.
