Ewald & Wasserman Research Consultants (E&W) is a women-owned small business located in San Francisco that focuses on social science research studies and provides project management for academic, health care, non-profit and commercial clientele in the social science and behavioral research field, including state and federal agencies. E&W offers high quality data collection and survey consulting services using multi-mode telephone, mail, in-person and web- based survey research approaches.

We have an upcoming project in San Francisco and are looking to expand our stellar team. This study will involve doing quick intercept surveys with people in specific areas of San Francisco. We are not selling anything but asking people for 2 minutes for their opinions on certain traffic improvements in the city. There is always a paid training prior to any new study. We need interviewers who are bi-lingual in Chinese/English. You must live in San Francisco to be considered for this position. The upcoming project will last for about 1-2 months.
The Field Interviewer at E&W Research is a part-time, on-call, non-exempt, project-based position, designed for a flexible individual with experience in social science data collection and an adaptable and proactive work attitude. The rate of pay is $24- $26/hr based on experience. The hours are very flexible and you will always work with a partner.
Candidates applying should have a keen eye for detail, be very reliable, follow directions carefully, and work very well independently or in a small team. This is a great opportunity to learn about data collection and research practices. It is ideal for candidates with flexible schedules and positive, "can do" attitudes.ย

Key Areas of Responsibility
  • Provide support with data collection for Field Projects
  • Travel to assigned locations
  • Work individually or part of a small team depending on study
  • Conduct brief intercept surveys with respondents as needed
  • Conduct observations in a location and complete survey on paper or a mobile device
  • Record clear and succinct responses
  • Submit reports and notes as requested
  • Attend project trainings and team meetings
  • Communicate daily with management team
  • Respond to inquiries and requests promptly
Qualifications
  • Extremely well organized and reliableย 
  • Courteous and respectful manner with study participants/protocols
  • Background in social science, psychology, sociology or education
  • Solution-oriented troubleshooter who can adapt to unforeseen project challenges
  • Ability to work independently with a high level of accountability and with a small team
  • Extremely detail-oriented nature with the ability to work effectively on multiple tasks concurrently
  • Ability to follow directions and perform basic logic checks
  • Flexible schedule/ability to work weekends as needed
  • Undergo a basic background screening
  • Complete an on-line Harassment Training class after 30 days of employment
  • Vaccinated for COVID 19
