What is a Konare Law Paralegal?

Konare Law is seeking a bilingual Immigration Paralegal (Spanish) to work closely with attorneys in supporting clients through their immigration journey. The ideal candidate will manage immigration casework, keep clients informed, and assist with preparing legal filings and trial materials. This role plays a vital part in helping clients feel supported and represented throughout their immigration legal process.


Responsibilities


  • Keep immigration cases organized by maintaining files, monitoring calendars, meeting deadlines, documenting actions and client communications, updating the file database, and confirming case status with attorneys.
  • Keep clients informed through regular contact and updates on immigration case progress.
  • Assist assigned attorneys with immigration litigation and trial preparation, particularly in removal proceedings.
  • Maintain client confidence by safeguarding confidential client/attorney information.
  • Attend all assigned client meetings, both in person and virtually.
  • Track the status of immigration filings with USCIS, EOIR, DOS, and DOL and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Prepare and draft motions, routine correspondence, and immigration filings with federal agencies and immigration courts; serve as a liaison to court personnel.
  • Compile indexes, pleadings, exhibits, checklists, motions, and conduct legal research for immigration litigation proceedings.

  • Candidate must have excellent customer service skills.
  • Candidate should have the willingness to cross-train for other job functions.
  • Candidate must be bilingual in English and Spanish.


Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree with two years of legal experience or associate degree with three years of legal experience
  • Certification: Paralegal Certificate (Preferred)
  • Experience: Two years of immigration law experience and two years of customer service experience.
