Job description

Title: Data Analyst
Reports to: Director of Information Technology
FLSA Status: Exempt
Personnel Supervised: None
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position performs business analysis to determine best practices and develop actionable insights and recommendations for the current business operations. It includes designing, maintaining, and providing support for data warehouse systems and related data sets. The Data Analyst will consult with a diverse cross section of business users and work in a highly collaborative environment, managing multiple competing priorities and assignments.
MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, or Finance (or equivalent experience)
Five or more years of computer and application software experience including data analysis, spreadsheets, and database management preferably in a healthcare setting
Minimum of one year of experience performing data analytics using healthcare data sets
Excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills
Skills to intervene and promote reconciliation, compromise and positive outcomes in difficult interactions
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
Strong SQL, Excel, Power BI, Snowflake skills with the ability to learn other analytic tools
Experience with the following systems: Athena Health, Dentrix, Rx30, Intacct, amp; Paycor preferred
Experience developing and maintaining automated data workflows and business processes using Python, SQL, APIs, Power Automate, RPA, or similar automation tools
Statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SQL Server, etc.)
Proficiency in data science analytics tool sets utilizing SQL
Proficiency in data visualization tools utilizing Power BI
Coordinating with development teams to determine application requirements
Writing scalable code using Python (preferred) or R programming language
Computer and application software including data analysis, spreadsheets, and database management
Familiarity with a variety of healthcare concepts, practices, and procedures
Data processing procedures, operations, data flow, and records maintenance, operating systems
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Strong business acumen, preferably in the healthcare environment
Bilingual in English and Spanish and bicultural preferred
RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS include, but are not limited to, the following:
Interpret data, analyzing results using statistical techniques and providing ongoing reports.
Utilize software to generate metrics and develop actionable recommendations.
Troubleshoot and improve performance of data warehouse applications.
Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintaining data systems and data warehouses.
Create Dashboards based on data mining, analysis, and visualization.
Undertake complex data mining and extraction activities.
Collaboratively work with business users and suite of clinical business intelligence (BI) tools for extracting, compiling, organizing and presenting data/analytic results.
Participate in meetings, and business and data analysis activities with cross-functional teams to gather required reporting and dashboard requirements.
Research best practices and support solutions and recommendations for the current business operations.
Create reports to assist in organizational decision making.
Develop, evaluate, recommend, and implement processes and procedures.
Implement or develop systems and reports to capture business operation information.
Work closely with leadership to achieve organizational initiatives.
