Job description

Safety & Security Control Officer

The Safety & Security Control Officer is responsible for ensuring the operational duties within the security office are handled efficiently and respectfully with a sense of urgency and genuine customer service. This person will support all patrol officers in their daily scope of duties via the access control center, two-way radio communications, telephone communications, and video surveillance platform to ensure programs and processes established are being executed following departmental standards.

Essential Functions:
  • The Safety & Security Control Officer will provide support in ensuring all organizational information/collateral is handled promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure proper transmission of confidential information both internal and external.
  • Ensure proper execution of assigned duties.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and reputation.
  • Knowledgeable of, adhering to, promoting, and enforcing all policies and procedures of Big Cedar Lodge.
  • Serve as an ambassador to the Big Cedar Lodge Safety & Security Department, interacting with guests and providing genuine Ozark Hospitality in every interaction.
  • Assist with processing Lost & Found items accurately and in a timely, professional manner.
  • Stay abreast of access control requests.
  • Monitoring and retrieval of CCTV surveillance feed.
  • Proactively maintain the skills required to perform job duties.
  • Conduct post-shift vehicle inspections and record the findings.
  • All other duties as assigned
Experience/Qualifications:
  • Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or equivalent

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:
  • Excellent written & verbal communication.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to follow instructions as directed and work with a sense of urgency.
  • Must possess strong problem-solving skills; be able to identify and resolve problems promptly, gather and analyze information objectively, use reasoning even when handling emotional situations.
  • Ability to focus attention on details
  • Able to work flexible schedules/shifts as needed for a 7-day operation

  • N/A

Physical Requirements:
  • Regularly walks, sits, stands, lifts up to 50 lbs, and does computer work.

Independent Judgement:
  • Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
