ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

If you’re passionate about turning complex construction documents into clear, accurate estimates and enjoy the challenge of finding the right value for our clients, we want to talk to you. As a Senior Estimator, you’ll play a key role in developing project pricing from concept through bid, partnering closely with owners, architects, subcontractors, and Okland’s project teams. You’ll bring sound judgment to quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, general conditions, and bid strategy while helping ensure projects are priced accurately and competitively. If you’re detail-oriented, collaborative, and confident
navigating complex estimates in a fast-paced environment, you’ll thrive on our Preconstruction team.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY

Estimating & Pricing

• Develop accurate conceptual, schematic, design development, GMP, and bid estimates for assigned projects, including quantity takeoffs, labor, materials, subcontractor pricing, general conditions, and project-specific costs.

• Review drawings, specifications, schedules, and other project documents to identify scope, clarify discrepancies, and develop complete project pricing.

• Research historical project data, market conditions, productivity, and other cost information to inform estimating decisions and maintain competitive pricing.

• Prepare clear estimate summaries, recaps, breakouts, and supporting documentation for internal and client review.

Preconstruction & Project Partnership

• Collaborate with architects, owners, subcontractors, project managers, and other stakeholders to resolve scope questions and identify opportunities for value engineering and cost savings.

• Support bidder solicitation, subcontractor prequalification, bid analysis, and bid strategy while maintaining strong relationships with trade partners.

• Assist project teams with budget development, cost coding, subcontracting, and project handoff to ensure continuity from preconstruction through execution.

• Represent Okland in estimating, project review, pre-bid, and client meetings while helping identify and pursue future opportunities.

YOU’RE READY FOR THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE

• A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.

• 3–5+ years of construction estimating experience, including quantity takeoffs, blueprint/specification review, and cost analysis.

• Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, materials, and estimating practices across multiple trades.

• Ability to analyze bids, labor and material costs, schedules, and project requirements to develop accurate and competitive estimates.

• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

• Proficiency with estimating and construction software, including MC2, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
