Job description

Job Description
Job Description
HVAC Commercial Estimator
Oklahoma City (On-Site)
About Our Client
Our client is a small, established mechanical contracting company with deep roots in the commercial HVAC and mechanical trade in Oklahoma. As the company continues to grow, they're looking for a hands-on estimator to help bid commercial mechanical projects and support field operations alongside a tight-knit, experienced team.
The Role
Our client is hiring an HVAC Commercial Estimator to take ownership of bidding commercial mechanical projects. This role also supports field project management and works closely with the fab shop and vendors to make sure crews have the equipment, tools, and materials they need. This is a great opportunity for an experienced trades professional who understands mechanical prints, submittals, and project specifications and is ready to grow into a full estimating role โ€” the estimating process itself can be taught to the right candidate.
What You'll Do
  • Bid on commercial mechanical projects
  • Assist in managing field projects
  • Coordinate with the fab shop and vendors on the equipment, tools, and materials needed for projects
  • Read and interpret mechanical prints, submittals, and project specifications
  • Work closely with ownership and operations to keep projects on schedule and on budget
What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of experience in the HVAC/Mechanical or Sheet Metal trade
  • 1-3 years of experience as a project manager, superintendent, or estimator
  • Solid understanding of mechanical prints, submittals, and project specs
  • Basic computer skills โ€” typing, email etiquette, and working familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong Mathematics Skills
  • No degree required โ€” trade experience is what matters
  • Structured, organized approach with a genuine willingness to learn
  • Comfortable in a highly collaborative team environment
  • Must live within approximately 45 minutes of Newcastle, OK, or be open to relocation
Team & Reporting
This role reports directly to the Owner and works closely with the Operations Chief, collaborating regularly with the rest of the leadership team and the shop foreman.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Base salary: $65,000 - $85,000, depending on experience
  • Healthcare coverage
  • 401(k)
  • Paid time off and paid holidays (after 6 months of employment)
  • 100% tuition reimbursement for trade/technical schooling related to the field (must pass the course)
  • Discretionary Christmas bonus in profitable years
  • Relocation assistance available for the right candidate
Why Join This Team
This is a chance to join a small company with deep roots in Oklahoma's mechanical trade and real room to grow as the business expands. You'll get hands-on ownership of bids and projects, a collaborative team, and a company willing to invest in your continued trade education.
Interview Process
  • Round 1: Video interview with Craftsmen Resources
  • Round 2: In-person or video interview with the Operations Chief
  • Round 3: Final interview with the Owner
Start Date: Flexible โ€” our client is prioritizing finding the right candidate over filling the role quickly.
