About the Role
Join a dynamic team as a Senior Power BI Developer and drive the transformation of complex datasets into actionable business intelligence for state agencies and the public education sector. This high-impact role offers the chance to architect data models, design compelling dashboards, and deliver insight-driven solutions that shape critical decisions across the organization. Leverage your expertise to lead projects, partner with cross-functional teams, and influence data-driven culture.
Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and optimize dimensional data models for robust reporting
- Design and deliver advanced Power BI dashboards and interactive reports
- Translate complex data into intuitive, actionable visual insights for stakeholders
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to define requirements and implement scalable reporting solutions
- Manage Power BI workspaces, gateway configuration, and scheduled data refreshes
- Ensure data security, accuracy, and optimal report performance through rigorous testing and validation
- Provide guidance and mentorship to team members; lead projects as needed
- Work directly with Texas state agencies and special education/public education datasets
Required Skills and Experience
- 8+ years of hands-on experience transforming complex datasets into performant data models
- 4+ years designing and delivering advanced Power BI solutions, including semantic modeling and DAX calculations
- Power BI dashboard and data model development expertise
- Power BI workspace management, gateway setup, and data security
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams on scalable reporting
- Proven ability to test, validate, and optimize Power BI solutions
- Direct experience with Texas state agencies and education datasets
Preferred Skills
- Prior experience with data-related tasks
- Familiarity with Source Control tools (Git/BitBucket)
