Job Description:

The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) employs nearly 2,300 team members operating nine institutions statewide, which house approximately 5,800 inmates. The department's focus includes inmate programming and education, physical and behavioral health care, re-entry services, and community programs, and is accredited by the American Correctional Association (ACA). Candidates will model the NDCS values of integrity, respect, compassion, growth, and excellence as we accomplish our mission, "Keep people safe."

The psychologist supervisor is responsible for providing clinical oversight and supervision to behavioral health supervisors and programing within NDCS residential treatment units. Scope of work includes:
*Provide direct clinical supervision to behavioral health supervisors.
*Mentor and train staff in clinical skills, therapeutic techniques, and effective interventions.
*Collaborate with administrative and clinical teams to develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based programming for clients in residential treatment.
*Monitor the effectiveness of treatment programs and make adjustments as needed to enhance outcomes.
*Facilitate communication among team members to promote a cohesive and collaborative working environment.
*Participate in the assessment and treatment of clients as needed.
*Psychological testing and evaluation.


Requirements / Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Doctorate in Psychology with a psychologist license by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services. Required clinical internship plus one year experience as a licensed psychologist with management experience required.

Preferred Qualifications: Subject matter experience preferred.

Other: Proof of licensure required upon acceptance of a job offer. Must submit to a security background check. Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the pre-employment medical exam and a drug test. Once employed, all incumbents must successfully complete the fully paid Nebraska Department of Correctional Services pre-service training program.
