Job Description

As a database administrator with a solid background in building, managing, and securing highly available SQL databases, especially open-source databases, you have the skills to ensure delivery of our production data. What if you could use those skills to improve the database technology supporting the Department of Defense?

On our team, you'll apply leading-edge principles and concepts to constantly look for ways to implement database tuning and performance optimization, design and deploy highly available database clusters on multiple networks, and configure, maintain, and test failover mechanisms routinely. You'll provide your client with peace of mind as you work on unusually complex problems and provide highly innovative solutions to ensure the security and integrity of the database. You'll use technology and tools to identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission critical database.

Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience with SQL database development and administration
  • 3+ years of experience with deployment and administration of Postgresor otheropen-source SQL databases
  • Experience with installing, configuring and administering EnterpriseDB Postgres Advanced ServerorPostgreSQL in a Linux environment
  • Experience with database replication
  • Knowledge of EnterpriseDB Failover Manager or Replication Manager(repmgr)
  • Experience with database backup and recovery
  • Knowledge of Backup and Recovery Tool(BART), Barman, or pgBackRest
  • Ability to attain a DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification or higher

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with leveraging Postgres Enterprise Manager to monitor and manage Postgres databases
  • Experience with migrating from other database systems to Postgres
  • Experience with EDB Postgres for Kubernetes
  • Experience with Ansibleor otherconfiguration management and automation tools
  • Knowledge of PostGIS extensions and functions
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification or higher
