POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW - NEUROLOGY RESEARCH
SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly motivated and exceptional scientist to join our Neurology Research group as a Postdoctoral Fellow investigating the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying white matter injury and repair. The successful candidate will develop and apply innovative cellular and animal models to identify and validate therapeutic targets that promote oligodendrocyte maturation and remyelination. This position offers an exciting opportunity to conduct innovative research in a multidisciplinary RNA therapeutics environment and contribute to the development of novel therapies for neurological disorders.
WORK LOCATION: Onsite Carlsbad
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design and execute innovative research to investigate mechanisms underlying white matter injury and repair.
  • Develop and apply cellular and animal models to study disease biology and evaluate therapeutic hypotheses.
  • Employ molecular, cellular, imaging, and OMICS approaches to identify and validate novel therapeutic targets.
  • Analyze, interpret, and communicate experimental findings to multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Publish research in peer-reviewed journals and present findings at internal and external scientific meetings.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • A Ph.D. in Neurobiology, Cell Biology, or a related discipline with a strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Research experience in oligodendrocyte biology, myelination, developmental neuroscience, or related neurobiology is highly desirable.
  • Experience with human iPSC culture and differentiation, primary neural cell cultures, or advanced in vitro models is preferred.
  • Experience with transcriptomic and translational profiling, single-cell RNA sequencing, or other OMICS approaches is advantageous.
  • Experience with molecular biology techniques including qPCR, RNA analysis, immunocytochemistry/immunohistochemistry and fluorescence/confocal microscopy is advantageous.
  • Experience with rodent models, tissue processing, and histological analyses is beneficial.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
