What is a beverage internship?

A Beverage Internship is a temporary, supervised work placement that provides hands-on experience in the beverage industry. Interns may work with companies involved in the production, distribution, or marketing of beverages such as soft drinks, alcoholic drinks, coffee, or tea. The internship typically offers exposure to various aspects of the business, including quality control, product development, logistics, and customer service. It is a valuable opportunity for students or recent graduates interested in pursuing a career in the beverage sector. Internships can last from a few weeks to several months, depending on the company and program.

What types of projects or tasks can I expect to work on during a beverage internship?

As a Beverage Intern, you can expect to gain hands-on experience with a variety of projects such as assisting with product development, supporting quality control processes, conducting market research, and helping with promotional events or tastings. Interns often collaborate closely with production, marketing, and sales teams to understand the full product lifecycle. This role provides valuable exposure to both the technical and business sides of the beverage industry, and interns are typically encouraged to contribute ideas and take initiative on small projects.

Job description

About the Position:
First Internet Bank provides paid internship opportunities designed to give students hands-on experience in a professional banking environment and real-world exposure to the financial industry. As the Finance Intern, you will be assigned to a finance, lending, credit, portfolio management, sales, or operations-related business area. You will contribute to meaningful work, collaborate with team members, and build an understanding of how their assigned area supports the Bank and its customers. Specific training, projects, systems, and learning objectives will be defined through a department-specific onboarding plan.
What You Will Do:
  • Learn the responsibilities, workflows, and business purpose of the assigned department through structured training, observation, and hands-on assignments.
  • Assist with financial, credit, portfolio, operational, market, or business analysis appropriate to the assigned area.
  • Support recurring reporting, account or portfolio review, reconciliations, documentation, data management, and other department processes as assigned.
  • Conduct research, organize information, and help identify trends, risks, process improvements, or opportunities for greater efficiency.
  • Assist with projects, process implementation, procedure review, file organization, and administrative activities that support department priorities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Bank and participate in internal meetings; when appropriate to the assignment, observe or participate in customer or partner interactions.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential information while following established Bank policies, procedures, controls, and professional standards.
  • Prepare and communicate work products clearly through spreadsheets, reports, presentations, or verbal updates.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, curiosity, attention to detail, accountability, and a commitment to quality service for internal and external customers.
  • Perform other duties and complete additional learning assignments as requested.

What We're Looking For:
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree, preferably in finance, accounting, business, economics, real estate, professional selling, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated interest in banking, finance, accounting, lending, credit, investments, operations, or a related area.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong organization, data management, analytical, and multitasking skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of attention to detail, accuracy, professionalism, and discretion.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, manage assigned priorities, ask thoughtful questions, and learn new concepts and systems.
  • Ability to meet the scheduling expectations established for the internship program.

Working Conditions/Demands:
  • Professional office setting.
  • Primarily sedentary position requiring long periods of time working at a computer.
  • Must be able to move throughout the office and buildings to obtain or relay information.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
