Human Resources Generalist
$70,000โ€“$80,000/year

Maletis Beverage is looking for a Human Resources Generalist to join our HR team in-person at our Portland, Oregon office. Family-run for over 90 years, we're investing in HR like never before and this role comes with real ownership and the chance to shape where HR goes next. You'll play a dynamic, multifaceted part in shaping the employee experience across benefits, wellness, leaves, engagement, and compliance for our workforce across Oregon and Washington. If you're organized, people-focused, and enjoy building better ways of doing things, we want you on our team!

What You'll Do:

Employee Engagement & Experience

  • Be an approachable, visible HR resource for employees across all our locations โ€” including the warehouse floor and out in the trade
  • Help run employee engagement, recognition, and wellness efforts
  • Help plan and coordinate employee events and culture-building efforts
  • Own our employee newsletter and other employee communications
  • Partner with department leaders on retention and engagement initiatives
  • Support employee education and training, and help grow our training & development program

Benefits, Wellness & Leave Administration

  • Serve as a go-to point of contact for employee benefits questions
  • Support benefits administration and open enrollment, including employee education
  • Administer and track leaves of absence (FMLA, OFLA, Oregon and Washington PFML, and ADA-related leave)
  • Coordinate workers' compensation claims, partnering with carriers and third-party administrators
  • Coordinate wellness program offerings and related employee communications
  • Maintain accurate benefits and leave data in Paycom and partner with payroll on related changes

HR Reporting & Compliance

  • Help ensure compliance with federal, Oregon, and Washington employment laws, including wage & hour, meal and rest break rules, ADA, and leave laws
  • Support recurring HR audits (I-9s, personnel files, PTO and leave tracking, break and scheduling compliance)
  • Maintain accurate, compliant employee records and documentation
  • Build and maintain HR reports and dashboards on leave tracking, headcount, turnover, and benefits
  • Pull and analyze data from Paycom, identifying trends and process improvements

HR Administration

  • Provide day-to-day HR administrative support
  • Assist with HR communications, documentation, and recordkeeping
  • Contribute to building and improving HR processes as the function continues to grow

Qualifications:

  • 2โ€“4 years of HR experience, including hands-on benefits and/or leave administration required
  • Working knowledge of multi-state employment law (Oregon and Washington strongly preferred)
  • Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel); experience with Paycom is a plus
  • Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) are highly encouraged to apply
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
