    About us:
    Walters is the premier environmental services provider in the Twin Cities metropolitan area providing waste and recycling collection to the public and private sectors since 1988. We are the largest family owned and operated waste and recycling provider in Minnesota providing over 100,000 services each week with a fleet fueled by both diesel and compressed natural gas (CNG).
    About the role:
    The Commercial Front Load Truck Drivers are assigned to a designated route each workday. The responsibilities are to complete a service pick-up at each customer designated on the daily route.
    Commercial Front Load Drivers operate a front-load truck to service commercial routes removing and transporting waste or recyclables to designated dump facilities. This position will service approximately 100 to 150 commercial customers per day according to the assigned routes. As a Commercial Driver, you will be required to get out of the truck at EVERY stop to move a container to and from the truck to dump it safely.
    This position is Safety Sensitive. It requires drug and alcohol testing in compliance with 49 CFR part 382, this includes marijuana. This position also requires an active DOT health card. To get a DOT health card, candidates must have a valid Minnesota Drivers License.
    Responsibilities:
    • Routes may require drivers to navigate through congested communities and confined or tight areas in city and suburban locations, backing skills are essential. Our drivers routinely climb in and out of the truck cab to service customers.
    • Required work hours may be up to the legal limits allowed and may require weekend on holiday weeks.
    • Drivers must be able to read and understand a map; complete daily driver logs as well as pre and post trip truck inspections
    • This position will require you to work in all weather conditions including extreme hot or cold, wet or dry conditions.

    Required Qualifications:
    • Must be over 18 years of age and authorized to work in the United States
    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
    • A valid CDL (Class A or B) with no air brake restriction is required to be held and maintained at all times during employment.
    • Clean driving record.
    • Mapping Skills

    Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs occasionally, bending, twisting, repetitive motion, and sitting for long periods of time
    • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, DOT health evaluation, and physical assessment.
    • This is a safety-sensitive position subject to drug testing requirements in compliance with 49 CFR Part 382, this does include marijuana testing.
    • Ability to get in and out of the truck at every stop to move the container in place to safely dump
