Best Chefs are recognized for their creativity, leadership, and ability to consistently deliver outstanding dining experiences. Their role often includes mentoring junior chefs and staying updated with culinary trends.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a chef, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Chef, you need a solid foundation in culinary techniques, food safety regulations, and typically a degree or certification in culinary arts. Resort Commis Chef - Prep Chef
Description: Cook Hard. Play Harder.
Tired of the same old city kitchen grind?
Trade the concrete jungle for the absolute best snow on earth.
Goldminer's Daughter Lodge at the base of Alta Ski Area is looking for a Commis Chef for the 2026-27 winter season (mid-Nov through mid-April).
This isn't a normal job. It's a lifestyle.
We're a tight-knit, hard-working crew that cooks killer food for hungry adventurers, and then gets outside together.
You'll make $17/hour + tips (avg 40 hrs/week) and score ski-in, ski-out access right from our front door.
The Perks:
Free Ski Pass: A season pass to Alta normally costs a small fortune - the mountain is literally your backyard, and yours is included.
Staff Housing & Meals: We've got your back.
The Culture: We work our tails off in the kitchen, but we laugh loud and get outside together every day.

• The ability to lift 50 lbs (those potatoes aren't light)
• High school diploma/GED and legal U.S. work authorization
Stop scrolling. Start packing.
