HDR is seeking a strong manager to lead and support our team in Raleigh in partnership with the NC BES Professional Services Leader and NC BES Business Group Manager.
Primary Responsibilities
The Raleigh BES Leader will be primarily focused on overseeing and coordinating project delivery in the Raleigh office with an emphasis on supporting our managers, growing our teams, and laying a foundation for marketing BES work (both to internal and external clients). This person will coordinate with the NC BES Professional Services Leader and NC BES Business Group Manager as part of a management team to lead BES in NC.
Responsibilities will include:
  • Supervising and mentoring section managers and key staff.
  • Supporting hiring efforts through communicating and vetting hiring needs with section managers.
  • Engage with and manage quality of deliverables. Initiate and track quality improvements into delivery processes. Engage with projects at an overall quality review level.
  • Provide scope and fee input to project managers for proposals.
  • Maintain forecasting data with section managers.
  • Maintain project and deliverables lists to ensure proper resource allocation and points of contact on each project.
  • Communicate with project managers to obtain scope/schedule/budget information and build a culture of cooperation.
  • Build BES' brand with our internal clients by facilitating superior communication and service.
  • Build relationships and liaise with internal clients and external BES Market Sector staff to support the pursuit and delivery of work.
  • As the volume of work increases in BES Market Sectors, build resumes and subject matter expertise to support the clients in those markets.
  • Assist with professional recognition write-ups and provide coaching to align folks with requirements for Associate/Professional Associate/SPA acknowledgement.
  • Build relationships with local business contacts.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 15+ years' experience in project delivery, planning, and engineering management.
  • A positive professional reputation with section managers and internal clients.
  • Management experience.
  • Located in Raleigh and willing to be primarily working from the office.

  • A minimum of 7 years experience
  • Professional registration, license or certification may be required based on role
  • Strong communication and listening skills
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments
