Pharmacy Administrative Coordinator
Pharmacy

As Pharmacy Administrative Coordinator at Bermuda Hospitals Board, you will keep our pharmacy service running smoothly, overseeing the administrative and operational backbone of the department. Working closely with the Manager Pharmacy, you will coordinate scheduling, purchasing, inventory, documentation, and controlled substance administration, ensuring pharmacy services are delivered safely and efficiently.
This is a varied, high-responsibility role at the operational heart of a close-knit island health system, with scope to shape how the department runs and to deputise across coordination duties. If you are an organised, analytical pharmacist who enjoys operations, problem-solving, and working across teams, we would like to hear from you.
What You'll Do
• Coordinate the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of Pharmacy Services under the direction of the Manager Pharmacy.
• Manage inventory, stock control, ordering, stocktaking, and departmental purchasing.
• Oversee narcotics and controlled substance administration, including permits, storage, vault and CII safe maintenance, reconciliation, and discrepancy reporting.
• Support staff scheduling, onboarding, training logistics, payroll, and leave processes.
• Maintain departmental standard operating procedures and support compliance with accreditation and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare operational reports and facilitate communication across the department.
• Participate in departmental committees, projects, and quality initiatives.
• Provide cross-coverage for the Clinical Coordinator - Pharmacy, skill set permitting, and take part in the leadership sick-call rotation.
Required Qualifications
• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree; or an MPharm followed by a postgraduate Clinical Diploma or MSc in Clinical Pharmacy.
• Minimum of three to five years of post-qualification hospital pharmacy experience, including operational, administrative, or supervisory experience, counted after the Clinical Diploma or MSc in Clinical Pharmacy for UK-trained candidates. A completed US pharmacy residency is regarded as equivalent to three years of practice experience.
• Registered, or eligible for registration, with the Bermuda Pharmacy Council.
• Demonstrated knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations, medication management, and regulatory compliance.
• A valid driver's licence, with the ability to travel between BHB sites.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in pharmacy operations, inventory and controlled substance management, purchasing, or departmental administration.
• Project management experience or qualification.
