NURSING AIDE - FULL TIME
ACUTE CARE WING BELCO PARTNER-RE
MEDICAL- SURGICAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT
BHB ensures the highest in quality health care through service excellence, education and leadership. We seek qualified, highly motivated, and experienced professionals to work in a supportive but demanding environment.
The Nursing Aide will work under the supervision of an assigned Staff Nurse and performs related duties necessary in caring for the personal needs, comforts and safety of the patients.
Key responsibilities include:
• Supports the policies and procedures of the Bermuda Hospitals Board (BHB) and maintains the standards of nursing practices
• Attends to and assist with activities of daily living i.e. feeding, bathing, grooming, toileting, and mobilizing (except operating and recovery rooms)
• Assist with the providing comfort measures and ensure patient safety
• Observe and reports patients symptoms, reactions, and progress
• Takes and records temperatures, pulse, and respirations. Records intake and output
• Administers evacuation enemas and evacuations suppositories. Gives bed pans and urinals
• Tests routine and diabetic urine and collects specimens for diagnostic test
• Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, care of the deceased and transportation of the bodies to the morgue
Qualifications &/ Registration required:
• High school Graduate
• Certificate of completion for the Nursing Assistant Course at Bermuda College or equivalent programme is required and/or Geriatric Aid Certification
Current registration as required by the Bermuda Nursing Council
• Must be capable of safely lifting with approved device
• Current CPR certification required
Salary: BI44 $1,135.98 per week - $32.4568 per hour
Schedule: 35 hours per week. Shiftwork including evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays as needed
