Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

This role provides actuarial support for Bermuda Economic Balance Sheet (EBS) valuation and leads key components of new reinsurance deal onboarding. Responsibilities include model development, data integration, financial reporting support, and coordination across actuarial, pricing, and technology teams. The position ensures accurate, efficient, and well-controlled actuarial processes that meet regulatory and organizational standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Bermuda EBS Modeling & Valuation Support

  • Lead the development, enhancement, and maintenance of actuarial models used for Bermuda EBS valuation, working in close partnership with the Bermuda Actuarial team.
  • Support assumption updates, model changes, and process improvements to strengthen reporting accuracy and efficiency.
  • Assist with data integration workflows, including ETL processes and validation routines, to ensure reliable data for valuation.
  • Participate in cash flow model development and valuation testing activities.
  • Help resolve issues arising during production cycles by collaborating with cross-functional partners.
  • Prepare documentation and testing materials to comply with internal governance and regulatory expectations.

Reinsurance Deal Onboarding

  • Partner with the pricing team to transfer knowledge, assumptions, and methodologies for new reinsurance transactions.
  • Ensure valuation model readiness by assisting with feature development and pricing-to-valuation model alignment.
  • Support interim financial reporting using pricing models until valuation model components are finalized.
  • Participate in data onboarding automation, including mapping, validation, and control processes to enable scalable new-deal integration.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with actuarial, pricing, data, reporting, and technology teams to support both ongoing valuation and new business initiatives.
  • Communicate technical findings, issues, and recommendations in a clear and structured manner.
  • Spearhead the communication of commercial updates to the actuarial and related functions through active partnership with the Commercial team.
  • Identify and scale solutions developed for Bermuda and Deal onboarding for other modeling needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong technical actuarial and analytical skills and foundational actuarial modeling experience.
  • Embraces using new and emerging technology and experimentation
  • Specific technical skills preferred:
    • Model design, control and governance best practices
    • Asset-liability modeling techniques
    • Knowledge of US life and annuity products and their features (e.g. FA, FIA, VA, RILA, payout/SPIA, PRT, UL, VUL, IUL)
    • US GAAP, Bermuda EBS and US statutory valuation principles and methods
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functions and manage multiple priorities.
  • Familiarity with actuarial systems, valuation processes, and data workflows.
  • Demonstrates exceptional client service focus.
  • Actuarial fellowship designation required.

This is the expected annual base salary range for this Boston-based position. Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance.

Base Salary Range $170,000 - $180,000
