Job description

Job Summary:

The Project Manager is responsible for leading projects from late-stage development through Engineering-Procurement-Construction (EPC) contracting and construction, to completion and hand-off to Asset Operations Management. Responsible for managing multiple projects at a time and accountable for meeting project milestones and maintaining accurate project schedules and budgets.

The Project Manager will be responsible for maintaining a high degree of ownership and accountability while managing internal and external project stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities:

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Oversee and manage all aspects of the project construction process, including contractor safety, budgets, and schedules.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Collaborate with project Development and Engineering on local, state, and federal permitting efforts to prepare the project for contracting and construction.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Work with Supply Chain in support of procurement efforts for long lead and owner-furnished equipment.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Be the commercial lead for the project from RFP through substantial completion which includes participation in engineering site optimization discussions, reviewing CapEx and production data to ensure final design will meet the internal and interconnect requirements.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Effectively communicate and collaborate with project stakeholders, including contractors, suppliers, permitting entities, lenders, tax equity investors, landowners, and other relevant parties to realize project value.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Coordinate or lead the remaining permitting processes and interface with regulatory authorities as necessary to secure remaining necessary permits and approvals.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Conduct routine site visits to monitor progress and ensure safety and quality standards are being met.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Prepare regular progress reports, including project status updates, financial summaries, and risk assessments to both internal and external stakeholders to include PPA reporting and Lender reporting.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Assure rigorous quality assurance measures to ensure that project deliverables meet the specifications and address any quality issues that may arise.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Identify and assess project risks and develop strategies to mitigate them effectively.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Prepare the project for a smooth hand-over to Asset Operations, ensuring all necessary documentation, reports, and data are provided.

Requirements

Requirements:

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Minimum of 5+ years of experience in construction project management

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools,

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and manage complex project environments,

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Strong financial acumen and ability to develop accurate project budgets,

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Excellent oral and written communication skills,

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Strong organizational capacity to simultaneously manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and be able to quickly adapt to changes and shift priorities to meet project needs,

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Strong analytical skills,

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Experience comparing supplier quotes, estimates, and negotiating contracts.

Preferred:

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  BS or MS Degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or similar related field of study,

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Experience working within a solar development or EPC company,

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Working knowledge of PV design and construction,

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Knowledge of solar project construction schedules, cost and risk,

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Proficiency in Procore.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Current or previous Project Management Professional certification or equivalent is a plus.

Work Location: This role is based in Houston. Position will require periodic trips for team meetings and site visits to support engineering, development, and construction activities.
