The Residence Inn Virginia Beach Town Center is the newest and roomiest addition to the Town Center market. The hotel features 120 all-suite rooms, meeting space, indoor pool, and an outdoor patio with grills and a firepit. Conveniently located in Virginia Beachโ€™s Central Business District, and just steps from Town Center, the Residence Inn is surrounded by a vibrant and growing business community in the heart of Virginiaโ€™s largest city.
Maintenance Engineer

We are currently seeking an experienced a full time Maintenance Engineer to round out our outstanding engineering team at Residence Inn Town Center. This position will report to the Chief Engineer.
What You Will Bring To This Role:
The Part Time skilled Maintenance Engineer primary responsibility is to assist in maintaining the condition of the hotel property to Brand standards by completing repairs and providing general building maintenance.
Some of Your Responsibilities Would Be:
  • Performs repairs listed on work orders and maintains the work orders as a record of work completed. Tracks and records repairs. Makes repairs in a timely and professional manner.
  • Performs preventative maintenance and other tasks as assigned.
  • Picks up loose trash and debris, empties trash containers daily, or as needed.
  • Maintains cleanliness of storage areas, furniture storeroom, maintenance room, boiler room and flammable storage container.
  • Adjusts controls on mechanical systems to meet required company standards.
  • Removes, cleans, replaces and maintains unit air conditioners, televisions, telephones, and similar equipment.
  • Ensures fire safety equipment (fire alarm system, smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, etc.) are operational and that inspections are current, and forwards inspection reports to General Manager.
  • Ensures that all maintenance tools are in good working condition and stored neatly and securely in the maintenance room. Maintains monthly tool inventory records.
  • Complies with all OSHA, ADA and other safety and security policies.
  • Offers guest assistance as needed.
Required Characteristics:
  • Candidates must have good working knowledge of : plumbing, electrical and A/C repairs.
  • Candidates must also have one year of building maintenance experience.
  • The hospitality industry requires that employees present a professional image at all times. This includes providing courteous and attentive customer service. Employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. Uniform standards will be explained during orientation. This industry functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four (24) hours a day. Regular attendance in accordance with company standards is essential for success in this position.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Candidates for this position must be able to: stand and walk for a full shift; walk up and down stairs; bend, stoop and reach overhead; push and pull up to 250lbs and lift up to 75lbs.
