Job description

Who We're Looking For:
The State Street Cyber Security Architecture & Engineering team is seeking an accomplished professional with proven expertise in Application (AppSec) and software supply chain security implementation/governance. The ideal candidate will have previous hands-on experience with build and release management, secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC), and the automation of security processes within CI/CD pipelines. Additionally, the candidate should have experience with configuring and managing artifact caches (e.g. JFrog Artifactory) and other artifact sources of truth at an enterprise scale, deep familiarity with package ecosystems like Maven Central, PyPI and familiarity with SLSA principles.
What you will be responsible for
  • Help build and execute our software supply chain security strategy to expand upon State Street's ability to deploy secure-by-default open source artifacts, etc, across the enterprise.
  • Lead and grow the Software Supply Chain Security team within State Street
  • Partner with Engineering teams leads to create, implement, and apply DevSecOps, and AppSec principles and processes.
  • Establish/uplift governance for software bill of materials (SBOM), artifact integrity, code provenance and policy-as-code guardrails within State Street's software supply chain ecosystem
  • Deliver and communicate reporting via dashboard, and metrics.
  • Develop and maintain supply chain security and DevSecOps documentation.
  • Work with teams to continuously improve DevSecOps, & Software Supply Chain Security processes and tools.
  • Deliver tasks based on project objectives; technically support projects through to completion.
What we value
These skills will help you succeed in this role:
  • Previous experience developing software in technologies such as Java, .Net, Python, and Node.js etc.
  • Experience in cloud technologies such as Azure and AWS.
  • Extensive experience in developing and managing solutions for application and software supply chain security including managing artifact caches, locking down artifact sourcing, and continuous security assessment.
  • Current information security certification, including Certified Information Security Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
  • Experience with automation and orchestration tools, such as Ansible, Terraform, or Kubernetes, is valuable. Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and experience in automating deployment and management tasks in a hybrid cloud environment is beneficial.
  • Proven technical solutioning experience with current and emerging technologies including, but not limited to: Agile Development, DevOps, Cloud Engineering, System Hardening, DevSecOps, Cybersecurity, Cloud Security.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills across internal and external organizations.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage several projects or priorities simultaneously.
Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • 10+ years of relevant combined experience across development, CI/CD, software supply chain security and application security.
  • Experience with application security tooling and its operations with modern CI/CD, and DevSecOps best practices.
  • Experience partnering with Dev community to influence without authority to adopt application security best practices, and tooling.
  • Security+ or other cybersecurity security certification.
  • Experience with one or more common programming languages such as Java, .Net, Python, etc.

Salary Range:
$120,000 - $217,500 Annual
The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
