What Drives Success
The Warehouse Associate - Receiving primary function is to retrieve stock to fill customer orders, fulfill and process orders, accept incoming/outgoing shipments, and oversee the general organization of the warehouse.
Job Duties:
  1. Ensure implementation of Company safety, health and environmental programs for employees whose work is directed. Ensure that safe work practices are followed, and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy and governmental regulations.
  2. Commitment to the Company's policies, principles, and procedures and adheres the Company's procedures including Environmental, Health and Safety ("EH&S"), Equal Employment Opportunity ("EEO"), discipline/corrective action, and security.
  3. Organizing the daily workflow of receivers, unloaders, and forklift personnel
  4. Preparing shipments: Coordinating shipments with production, purchasing, and other departments
  5. Training receiving team members on safety protocols and proper procedures
  6. Keeping track of receipts and paperwork
  7. Working with the quality assurance team to ensure that products meet company standards and that any issues are reported
  8. Communicating across the business, including with bookstore staff, delivery services, and vendors
  9. Tracks, traces, and updates the status of incoming and outgoing shipments.
  10. Maintains a clean, neat, work ready area.
  11. Promptly unloads trucks and deliveries and sorts and stocks receivables.
  12. Maintains an accurate log sheet of daily moves, scanning inventory, and counting accurately.
  13. Engages with vendors and drivers with a positive attitude.
  14. Provides additional backup support for shipping and receiving departments.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.

What We Are Looking For
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to operate various types of materials handling equipment including:
    • Hand trucks
    • Pallet jacks
    • Forklifts - Stand-up/Sit-down
    • Order/Cherry picker
    • Bendi Forklift experience a plus
    • Turret Truck experience a plus
  • Must be comfortable using equipment and elevating to heights ranging from 18ft to 30ft
  • Must be flexible - OT and weekend are required as needed
  • Must be able to read and write in English
  • Basic math & computer skills
  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude and great work ethic whether they are working with others or working unsupervised.

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience
  • A minimum of 1-2 years' experience in a warehouse environment preferred.

What We Offer
Compensation: This is an hourly non-exempt role. The starting pay range for this role and market is between $17.00- $25.00 /hour. Factors that may affect starting pay include geography/market, and the skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. Employees in this role are also eligible to earn overtime when they work more than 40 hours in a week (or as otherwise required by state law).
Benefits: Subject to applicable eligibility requirements, the following benefits are offered for this role: tuition reimbursement; medical, dental, and vision insurance; prescription drug coverage; 401(k) retirement plan; short-term disability insurance; 8 weeks paid birthing leave; 2 weeks paid bonding leave; life and long-term disability insurance.
Depending on date of hire, and subject to applicable eligibility requirements, new employees in this role also receive up to: 10 days paid time off, 12 paid holidays, and 3 floating holidays per year.
