Job description

Salary:

HR Operations & Systems Specialist

(Hybrid Fairfax, VA | 3 days in office, 2 days remote; some weeks may require additional onsite presence). Currently, only local candidates will be considered due to the hybrid schedule. This is not a 100% remote role.

Position Summary:

The HR Operations & Systems Specialist plays a critical role in global HR service delivery, serving as the primary owner of the companys HRIS (BambooHR), employee community platform, and compensation benchmarking tools, while also providing U.S.-specific HR support in benefits, compliance, and operational processes. This role operates as an informal lead for HR Operations, partnering closely with HR colleagues worldwide to maintain process accuracy, compliance, operational excellence, and a highquality employee experience.

Key Responsibilities:

1) HR Operations

  • Act as an operational point of coordination for global HR activities and process execution.
  • Support the creation, maintenance, and publication of HR policies, ensuring accurate version control and distribution.
  • Help develop and maintain HR Sharepoint site content.
  • Assist with HRrelated audits and required compliance documentation.
  • Contribute to RFPs requiring HR inputs.
  • Provide content stewardship and administrative oversight of the Employee Community within BambooHR, ensuring information is current, accessible, and engaging.

2) HRIS Administration

  • Serve as global administrator and subject matter expert for BambooHR, including configuration, troubleshooting, workflows, integrations, permissions, reporting, and data governance.
  • Assist in further development and maintenance of automated workflows for onboarding, offboarding, performance, and lifecycle processes.
  • Perform regular audits to ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Optimize system features and collaborate with the BambooHR support team as needed.

3) Benefits, Compensation, & Other Support

  • Serve as the primary support contact for U.S. benefits inquiries, issue resolution, and annual benefits processes.
  • Own and manage the Mercer Comptryx compensation benchmarking platform, including data pulls, market comparisons, and reporting used in compensation cycle planning.
  • Provide global employment and compensation verifications.
  • Support immigration (visa) processes, specifically for US based employees.

4) Lifecycle Support

  • Support global onboarding and offboarding processes, including offer letter preparation, background checks, orientation coordination, and system access workflows.
  • Assist managers and new hires with process understanding and troubleshooting.

5) HR Project Support

  • Participate in HR initiatives such as process improvement, system enhancements, program rollouts, compliance projects, and global HR operations planning.


Education & Training

Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

Required Skills & Experience:

Minimum Qualifications

  • 24 years of experience in HR operations, HRIS administration, or an HR generalist capacity.
  • Hands-on experience with BambooHR or another modern HRIS platform.
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated comfort using spreadsheets for data analysis and reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote.
  • Experience supporting onboarding and offboarding processes, conducting HR data audits, and managing standard HR operational workflows.
  • Familiarity with U.S. benefits administration, including employee support and vendor interaction.
  • Excellent communication skills, strong organizational capability, very high attention to detail, and the ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
  • High degree of integrity and sound judgment when working with sensitive, confidential or personal data.
  • Strong desire to support and improve employee engagement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Mercer Comptryx or similar compensation benchmarking tools.
  • Experience working in a global HRenvironment.
  • Experience maintaining intranetstyle employee information hubs.
  • HRrelated certifications (e.g., SHRMCP, PHR) preferred but not required.
  • Working knowledge of AI-driven tools and platforms, including the ability to leverage AI for process optimization, data analysis, document creation, and workflow automation within HR operations.
