Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and energetic Change Management Specialist with FinOps experience to help drive the people side of our cloud financial transformation. As we scale our cloud infrastructure, ensuring our teams successfully adopt new cloud financial management practices is critical.
In this role, you will be the hands-on execution lead for change initiatives, bridging the gap between engineering, finance, and business teams. You will focus heavily on implementing structured change management tactics, designing and delivering FinOps training plans, and executing communication strategies that embed a culture of cloud cost accountability across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Change Management Execution
  • Support Impact Assessments: Gather data and conduct stakeholder interviews to assist in identifying how new FinOps processes will impact different engineering and finance workflows.
  • Deploy Tactics: Implement structured change management activities using established frameworks (e.g., Prosci ADKAR) to support teams through the FinOps transition.
  • Monitor Adoption: Track and report on adoption metrics, usage of new cost-management tools, and compliance with tagging policies to identify areas needing extra support.
Communications & Engagement
  • Execute Communication Plans: Draft, schedule, and distribute high-impact communications (emails, newsletter updates, Slack/Teams announcements) explaining new FinOps processes and workflows.
  • Address Feedback: Act as a primary point of contact for team feedback, answering questions about new processes and escalating systemic resistance to leadership.

Training & Enablement
  • Develop Training Materials: Create practical, user-friendly training assets, including quick-reference guides, short video tutorials, FAQs, and Confluence/SharePoint documentation.
  • Facilitate Workshops: Coordinate and co-facilitate training sessions and workshops aimed at teaching engineering teams how to use cloud cost optimization tools and interpret financial dashboards.
  • Onboarding Support: Build FinOps training modules into the standard onboarding process for new engineering and finance hires.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience: 3-5 years of professional experience in change management, corporate communications, or training delivery-ideally within an IT, cloud, or technology environment.
  • FinOps Exposure: 1-2 years of experience working alongside or within Cloud, FinOps, or IT financial management teams. You should be familiar with foundational FinOps concepts (Inform, Optimize, Operate).
  • Certifications (Preferred but not required): * FinOps Certified Practitioner (FCP).
    • Prosci Certified Change Practitioner or equivalent.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Business, Organizational Development, Information Technology, or a related field.
