Job description

We are currently looking for a DevSecOps Engineer for a 100% remote position on a large federal government healthcare project. This role supports secure software delivery, cloud infrastructure operations, CI/CD automation, and release engineering activities in a collaborative DevSecOps environment. The engineer will work closely with developers, testers, security personnel, and platform engineers to improve operational stability, deployment reliability, and delivery efficiency across enterprise applications and services.

The candidate must reside within the continental US.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application builds, automated testing, packaging, and deployment activities.
  • Implement automation solutions for environment provisioning, operational workflows, release processes, and infrastructure support tasks.
  • Support secure delivery practices including code scanning, dependency validation, secrets management, and policy enforcement activities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve build, deployment, pipeline, and environment-related issues across multiple applications and services.
  • Collaborate with development and QA teams to improve release quality, deployment reliability, and software delivery timelines.
  • Support cloud-based infrastructure and shared platform services in coordination with engineers, architects, and operations teams.
  • Maintain documentation for deployment pipelines, environment configurations, release procedures, and operational support processes.
  • Participate in incident response efforts, root cause analysis, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor system and pipeline performance and recommend improvements to automation, tooling, and workflow efficiency.
  • Support change management, deployment coordination, and release readiness activities across production and non-production environments.
  • Contribute to various projects and initiatives as assigned, demonstrating adaptability and a collaborative mindset.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in DevOps, build and release engineering, systems administration, cloud operations, or related technical environments.
  • Strong experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar automation platforms.
  • Experience with AWS services, Linux administration, scripting, and infrastructure automation concepts.
  • Experience working with containers, artifact repositories, and deployment tooling.
  • Understanding of DevSecOps principles, secure software delivery practices, and security-focused automation processes.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues across environments, deployment pipelines, and application services.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively across development, QA, security, and operations teams in complex technical environments.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Government clearance.

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience supporting federal government programs or secure cloud environments preferred.
  • Familiarity with healthcare integration platforms or regulated healthcare delivery environments is a plus.
  • Exposure to Kubernetes, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), and observability or monitoring tools is desirable.
  • Relevant AWS, security, or DevOps certifications are a plus.
  • Experience using Jira, Confluence, GitHub, or other Git-based collaboration and project management tools preferred.
