We Rock the Spectrum is committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and fun environment to foster learning, exploration, and safe sensory experiences. We provide children with a fun and motivational environment to help them in the areas of strength, movement, sensory processing, communication, positive behavior modification, social interactions, and self-care skills. Our unique equipment assists all children in their neurological growth and development.


Our activities, programs, and retail location โ€œThe Rock Shopโ€ make it possible for us to provide social and physical opportunities through state funded programs. As a result, We Rock the Spectrum is an amazing example of how we can help all children grow and develop by providing an all-inclusive environment. We strive to create the best sensory gym for autism and provide the best indoor playground.


Our business hours are 7 days a week from 9:00 AM-7:00 PM on Monday through Friday. Saturday 9:00 AM-7:00 PM and Sunday 10:00 AM-2:00 PM.


We may also have additional evening shifts available on an intermittent basis that occur with private room rentals,

parentsโ€™ night out and other community events.

Job Description:

Our Coach will use our Mind Body Software, have full knowledge of all services and prices, and understand each piece of equipment in the gym and know what to recommend when seeing a child having difficulty. As a Coach you will be responsible for maintaining the day-to-day operations of the We Rock the Spectrum and the physical environment of the gym. The Coach's are also watching out for the overall safety of children during open play and making sure rules are being followed. During break-time the Coordinator will need to be comfortable working one on one or one on four with children.


Hours: We are primarily looking for individuals that could work after school hours and weekends. Weekends are required!


Requirements

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in implementing all project and activity curriculum.
  • Review the reservations and prepare for the children arrival.
  • Manage Break time reservations and check-ins using the Mindbody program.
  • Supervision of the gym and its members to provide and maintain a clean, and safe environment.
  • Coach's may work with children with aggressive behaviors, such as biting, scratching, pulling hair, hitting, and/or kicking. We Rock the Spectrum Kids Gym will provide training as need be to manage challenging behaviors.
  • Set-up and clean-up of projects in the arts and crafts area.
  • Promote services, classes, and special events.
  • Exhibit awareness of and enthusiasm for all programs offered by the gym.
  • Assist with special projects, events and promotions as needed.
  • Consistently offer the highest level of personalized member service while maintaining a positive, enthusiastic, and helpful attitude. Respond to member concerns, suggestions, and complaints in a timely, professional, and consistent manner
  • Demonstrate awareness of the importance of membership sales and member retention; work to promote We Rock the Spectrum in all areas.
  • Make equipment and supply recommendations and report low inventory levels to the Manager on a timely basis.
  • Perform housework related to childcare, including cleaning up rooms, toys, taking out trash wiping down toys and counter tops. Apply cleaning spray 30 mins after closing of gym.

Physical Demands:

  • Requires a wide range of constant physical activities, including but not limited to: sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, twisting, pushing, pulling, and reaching.
  • Requires close, distance, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
  • Frequent exposure to and use of household cleaning products.
  • Occasional exposure to blood or other bodily fluids.
  • Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and Mindbody program.

Education & Experience:

  • Enthusiasm to work with all children, with all abilities
  • Previous experience working with children
  • High school diploma or enrollment in the 3rd or 4th year.
  • Pre-employment screening (background check, CPR certification infant and adult)
