Behavior Support Specialist

Come join us in mentoring and teaching adults with Autism spectrum disorder (ASD), mental health & neurodiverse challenges, and developmental disabilities. Consistent full-time shifts โ€“ Day, evening, or weekends $14.35-$17.00/hr with benefits. Paid training & certifications! You get to learn about models of behavior, behavior support plans & positive behavior interventions - and be a part of some amazing progress. Autism Support responsibilities include โ€“ creating connections, supporting sensory needs, maintaining a structured environment, building trusting relationships, coaching and supporting people through times of escalation or aggressive behaviors, personal care and hygiene assistance, mentoring & teaching, going on community inclusion outings & activities. You'll learn to work closely with our Nursing and training teams and earn CPR, First Aide, Mandt certifications โ€“ basic/intermediate/advanced skills. Includes a great paid training program. Requirements for Support Specialist:

- Strong listening, communication, and relationship building skills

- Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disabilities, neurodiverse challenges, mental health disabilities, other medical complexities, and/or co-occurring diagnosis.

- Experience with verbal de-escalation strategies, setting boundaries, and working with individuals who exhibit aggressive behaviors is beneficial.

- High school diploma or accredited GED.

- Valid driverโ€™s license and good driving record (less than four infractions/tickets)

- Dependable transportation & proof of auto insurance

- Good written and verbal communication skills

- Must be able to lift 50 lbs or ยผ of own body weight, whichever is less
