Job Summary

At MaineGeneral Health, we're committed to leveraging technology to improve patient outcomes and support exceptional clinical care. We're seeking Epic Analysts – Inpatient Clinical to join our Information Technology team and help optimize Epic applications that support nurses, physicians, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary care teams throughout the inpatient care continuum. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced Epic analysts and healthcare IT professionals who are passionate about improving clinical workflows through technology while collaborating with caregivers across our health system.

Job Description

Epic Analysts partner with clinical leaders, physicians, nurses, pharmacy, ancillary departments, and IT teams to design, configure, implement, maintain, and optimize Epic applications supporting inpatient clinical operations. This role is responsible for ensuring Epic solutions align with organizational goals, enhance patient safety, and improve clinician efficiency.

What You'll Do

Analyze inpatient clinical workflows and collaborate with stakeholders to improve operational efficiency and patient care. Configure, build, test, and implement Epic application enhancements. Support clinical departments through issue resolution, optimization initiatives, and system maintenance. Participate in Epic upgrades, new feature implementations, and integrated testing. Develop workflow documentation, system specifications, and end‑user training materials. Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, pharmacy, ancillary departments, and project teams to deliver effective technology solutions. Monitor system performance and recommend improvements based on user feedback and organizational priorities. Ensure application configurations comply with regulatory standards, organizational policies, and Epic best practices.

Qualifications
  • As part of the selection process, candidates will be required to complete the Epic Sphinx Assessment. Assessment results will be considered alongside relevant experience, interview performance, and organizational needs as part of a holistic evaluation process.
  • Required Epic certification required within 12 months of hire* (domestic travel required to obtain certification).
  • Experience supporting healthcare applications or inpatient clinical operations.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical and operational teams.
  • Preferred Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Clinical Informatics, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • *Employees hired into this role as part of the initial Epic implementation may be hired prior to obtaining Epic certification and will complete required certification through organization‑sponsored Epic training.
Compensation Information

$64,501 - $173,264

The salary range shown reflects the base salary for this position. Individual compensation is determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, and market considerations.
