Job description

Job Summary

As a Physician in an affiliated medical practice, an Emergency Medicine Physician will provide medical services to patients in an assigned area. The position is per diem, certified or board eligible, and open at MaineGeneral Medical Center’s Augusta and Waterville locations.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver patient care in a 24/7 Emergency Department environment for 12‑hour shifts.
  • Work in two distinct settings: a regional medical center in Augusta and a free‑standing ED in Waterville.
  • Collaborate with a team of 35 physicians and 2 physician assistants.
  • Receive clinical medical backup from a staff of 250 physicians, including adult and pediatric hospitalist teams.
  • Participate in the collegial team and contribute to quality, compassionate patient care.
Qualifications & Certifications
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) – American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)
  • Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) – American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)
  • Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) – Maine State Board of Licensure of Podiatric Medicine
  • Board eligibility or certification in Emergency Medicine.
  • Ability to work scheduled 12‑hour shifts.
