BASES (Before and After School Extended Services)

Located in New Fairfield at New Fairfield Elementary School


Job Description: 
EdAdvance is seeking a qualified applicant to work in the BASES (Before and After School Extended Services) Before School Program in New Fairfield.  The qualified candidate will be professional, have experience working with elementary school aged children, posses strong communication and interpersonal skills, and be available during before school hours (6:45am-9:00am). The Assistant Teacher works under the supervision of the Site Coordinator and the BASES Administrative Team. 
Major Responsibilities: 
  • Assist Site Coordinator in operation of after school program on a daily basis 
  • Supervise children and provide a safe, welcoming environment 
  • Maintain positive relationships with families, children and school personnel
  • Set up and clean up of program site 
  • First Aid/CPR/Meds Admin certification to be acquired within 3 months of hire
  • Other duties as may be assigned
  • Regular and consistent attendance is considered an essential function of this position
Qualifications: 
  • Requires High School Diploma or equivalent, college course work in ECE/ELED or related  field preferred 
  • Experience working with School Aged Children 
  • Knowledge of Child Development
  • Awareness of Age-Appropriate curriculum activities
  • Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Physical Requirements: 
  • Must be able to stand for entire shift and move through program space (indoor and outdoor) with students.
