As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will:

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to accurately identify the needs of students and formulate individualized treatment plans tailored to their unique circumstances.
• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, utilizing modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and solution-focused therapy, for individuals, couples, and families.
• Develop and facilitate psychoeducational and support groups focused on common mental health challenges encountered by students in school settings.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including educators, psychologists, and psychiatrists, to ensure a holistic approach to each student's care and facilitate seamless treatment transitions.
• Provide crisis intervention services and support to students during mental health emergencies, helping to stabilize and ensure safety.
• Educate students and their families about mental health issues, treatment options, and available community resources to empower them in their wellness journeys.
• Maintain accurate, confidential patient records in compliance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring all documentation is thorough and up-to-date.
• Engage actively in case consultations, team meetings, and professional development trainings.
• Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in mental health therapy to continually improve therapeutic practices.

This role is primarily focused on supporting children and adolescents facing various mental health challenges in school settings. You will work closely with students from diverse backgrounds, many of whom may be experiencing stressors related to their academic performance, social interactions, and home environments. Your expertise will be crucial in fostering resilience and promoting emotional well-being.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of California.
• In-depth knowledge of mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment models, and therapeutic methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough assessments and design effective treatment plans for varied populations.
• Experience delivering individual and group therapy, particularly in educational or community-based settings.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
• Sound judgment and adherence to ethical standards in practice.
• Competence in electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant technology.
• Ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary team environment.

While not mandatory, the following experiences are highly desirable:

• Previous experience working within school systems or with youth populations.
• Proficiency in trauma-informed care practices.
