About the Role: 
We’re looking for a dynamic and strategic Key Account Manager to lead our partnership with Ulta Beauty — one of the largest and most influential beauty retailers in the U.S. In this role, you’ll own the day-to-day business with Ulta across both brick-and-mortar and online, driving growth through flawless execution, strong relationships, and creative retail activation. 
 
 
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Including but not limited to:
Account Management:
  • Act as the primary liaison with Key Account representatives, working proactively to resolve account issues by establishing a strong professional relationship.
  • Engage with Key Account Supplier Portals, gain familiarity with reporting and actionable data to drive improved business results
  • Regularly review and manage product listings, optimizing for best practices.
  • Manage asset requests for SDS information, PDP page updates, and image/video content - this includes the setup of new SKUs in retail partners systems (PIM and otherwise)
  • Function as liaison between incoming Purchase Orders via OpenText and Operation's team. 
  • Ensure Sales Orders are created systematically within Netsuite and follow up on invoices as required. 
  • Collaborate with the operations team to ensure smooth inventory management and timely product delivery.
  • Continually monitor and analyze account performance, KPIs, and customer feedback.
Sales Strategy:
  • Create and implement sales strategies to maximize revenue and market share.
  • Maintain understanding of retailer forecasts, the accuracy and opportunities within them, partner internally to adjust where necessary to “under-promise and over-deliver.”
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to proactively develop then execute promotional campaigns, exclusive deals, seasonal promotions, and collaboration opportunities.
  • Use data-driven insights to identify and capitalize on sales trends, market opportunities, and customer buying patterns.  
  • Minimize profitability erosion through the analysis of chargebacks, returns, damaged products, excess testers 
  • Regularly conduct competitor analysis and adjust strategies accordingly to maintain a competitive edge including but not limited to product pricing, product assortment, end of product life transition planning and short/long term discounting strategies
Education & In-Store Execution
  • Partner with the Education team to deliver impactful product training and brand experiences for Beauty Advisors and Ulta associates.
  • Support new launch rollouts, floor set updates, and fixture refreshes through clear communication and coordination.
  • Conduct local store visits to assess merchandising, compliance, and visual standards; capture opportunities and corrective actions as needed at the discretion of leadership.
Compliance:
  • Regularly review Key Account’s latest policies and algorithm changes, ensuring our accounts remain compliant and up-to-date.
  • Work closely with the legal team to handle any intellectual property or trademark issues.
  • Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure all product listings meet Key Account standards and guidelines, meet or exceed their scorecard minimum requirements.
  • Proactively manage evolving account requirements, for example UL WercSmart. 
  • Ensure all marketing and advertising activities are compliant with Key Account guidelines and industry regulations.  
  • Partner with Marketing and Brand teams to drive timely alignment 
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2-7 years of experience managing Key Retail Accounts, preferably in the beauty or personal care sector. Ulta experience is a MUST. 
  • Must have dedicated Account Management experience working directly with Ulta Beauty.
  • A self-starter, able to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills both within internal and external stakeholder meetings and management scenarios. 
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience in interpreting sales data and market trends to drive strategy.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to resolve issues promptly and professionally.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices and optimization techniques.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Retail Management, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
