The Role

Doppel is seeking a BDR Manager to lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Business Development Representatives responsible for generating qualified pipeline across our Commercial, Mid-Enterprise, and Enterprise segments.This is a hands-on people management role for a leader who is passionate about developing BDR talent, building strong outbound and inbound motions, and creating a culture of accountability, urgency, and continuous improvement. You will directly manage a team of BDRs and own their day-to-day performance, coaching, development, and pipeline generation goals.You will work closely with Sales leadership, Marketing, RevOps, and Account Executives to ensure the BDR organization is targeting the right accounts, delivering relevant messaging, responding quickly to inbound demand, and consistently creating high-quality pipeline.

You will help the team adopt modern prospecting tools, AI-powered workflows, intent signals, and automation while maintaining the thoughtful, personalized outreach required to engage enterprise security buyers.The ideal candidate is an experienced BDR/SDR people manager who combines strong coaching and leadership skills with operational rigor, a data-driven mindset, and a willingness to be deeply involved in the day-to-day execution of the team.

This is an in-office leadership role based in Austin, TX.

What You’ll Do Lead, Coach & Develop the BDR Team
  • Directly manage a team of BDRs responsible for outbound prospecting, inbound lead qualification, lead nurturing, and qualified pipeline generation.
  • Provide consistent 1:1 coaching, call reviews, pipeline reviews, and performance feedback to help each BDR achieve and exceed goals.
  • Establish clear expectations around activity, meetings, qualified opportunities, pipeline creation, and overall performance.
  • Build individualized development plans and create clear career paths for BDRs to grow within Doppel’s Sales organization.
  • Identify performance gaps early and provide actionable coaching and support to improve results.
  • Foster a high-energy, collaborative culture centered around accountability, learning, recognition, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Sales leadership to recruit, onboard, ramp, and retain high-performing BDR talent.
Drive Pipeline Generation
  • Own BDR team pipeline generation goals across Commercial, Mid-Enterprise, and Enterprise segments.
  • Develop and execute outbound prospecting strategies that consistently generate qualified meetings and pipeline.
  • Establish high-velocity processes for inbound lead response, qualification, routing, and follow-up.
  • Ensure strong alignment between BDRs and AEs around target accounts, messaging, qualification standards, and opportunity handoffs.
  • Monitor pipeline quality and conversion to ensure the team is focused on creating meaningful sales opportunities—simply activity or meeting volume.
  • Build and continuously refine messaging, sequences, talk tracks, and outreach strategies for enterprise security buyers.
Performance Management & Operational Excellence
  • Establish and manage BDR KPIs, activity expectations, pipeline targets, conversion metrics, and team dashboards.
  • Run effective team meetings, 1:1s, pipeline reviews, call coaching sessions, and performance reviews.
  • Analyze individual and team performance to identify trends, coaching opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Monitor conversion throughout the BDR funnel, including outreach-to-meeting, meeting-to-opportunity, and pipeline creation.
  • Partner with RevOps to improve reporting, lead routing, territory alignment, CRM hygiene, and overall BDR productivity.
  • Use data to continuously improve team capacity, productivity, conversion, and pipeline attainment.
Build a Modern, AI-Enabled BDR Motion
  • Help BDRs effectively leverage AI and automation to improve prospect research, personalization, messaging, prioritization, and productivity.
  • Partner with RevOps to implement workflows using intent signals, enrichment data, AI-assisted prospecting, and sales engagement technology.
  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive work so BDRs can spend more time engaging high-value prospects.
  • Experiment with new prospecting strategies, messaging, channels, and technologies to improve pipeline generation.
  • Balance automation and scale with thoughtful, personalized outreach to strategic accounts.
Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Partner closely with Account Executives and Sales leadership to align BDR activity with territory and pipeline priorities.
  • Collaborate with Marketing on campaigns, inbound lead follow-up, target accounts, events, and messaging.
  • Work with Product Marketing and Sales Enablement to ensure BDRs understand Doppel’s products, competitive positioning, buyer personas, and value proposition.
  • Partner with RevOps to continuously improve systems, reporting, processes, and BDR workflows.
  • Bring feedback from prospects and the BDR team back to GTM leadership to improve messaging, campaigns, and go-to-market execution.
What We’re Looking For
  • 5+ years of B2B SaaS sales development or business development experience, including experience as a high-performing individual contributor.
  • 2+ years of direct people management experience leading BDRs or SDRs.
  • Proven track record of coaching BDR/SDR teams to achieve or exceed pipeline generation goals.
  • Experience directly managing individual contributors, including performance management, career development, onboarding, and coaching.
  • Strong understanding of outbound prospecting, inbound qualification, account-based prospecting, and pipeline generation.
  • Experience partnering closely with Account Executives and Sales leadership on territory and account strategies.
  • Strong coaching skills across cold calling, email outreach, objection handling, discovery, qualification, and prospecting strategy.
  • Data-driven approach to managing BDR performance, including activity, conversion, meetings, opportunities, and pipeline metrics.
  • Experience using modern CRM and sales engagement platforms and an interest in leveraging AI and automation to improve BDR productivity.
  • Strong understanding of modern prospecting strategies, intent data, enrichment tools, sequencing, and personalization.
  • Ability to create a high-performance culture while maintaining a strong focus on employee development and career progression.
  • Comfortable operating as a hands‑on, frontline manager who is actively involved in the day-to-day work of the team.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment with ambitious pipeline and growth targets.
