Job description

Job Summary:
Google is a leading technology company that develops next-generation technologies impacting billions of users. They are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to provide technical leadership and drive the architecture and design of critical telemetry infrastructure for Google's financial exchange platform.
Responsibilities:
• Provide technical leadership on high-impact projects.
• Influence and coach a distributed team of engineers.
• Facilitate alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines.
• Lead a high-impact engineering team to deliver state-of-the-art telemetry infrastructure for GCP’s financial exchange platform, ensuring technical and execution strategy is aligned with the critical performance and reliability objectives of the global financial services market.
• Drive the overarching architecture and design of mission-critical systems, such as the Fairness Monitor (FairMon) and Butter Capture Collector (BCC), to provide deterministic telemetry for ultra-low-latency (ULL) networks and real-time fairness monitoring for institutional-grade trading workloads.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience programming in C++.
• 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
• 5 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
• 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
• Experience with distributed systems and network infrastructure.
Preferred:
• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
• 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
