Compensation for this position is expected to range between $20.00 and $22.00 per hour, in alignment with what California Baptist University (CBU) reasonably anticipates paying for this role. The final rate may vary depending on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and prevailing market conditions. Position Summary Information
Summary
Initiates digital imaging, scheduling and production of black and white or color print jobs on full-service orders, including finishing services and large job management. The Print and Copy Services Technician's time will be spent prioritizing orders and workflows, providing information on materials to help guide the quote-setting process, producing complex orders, operating the appropriate equipment and completing print orders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Utilizes consultative skills to anticipate needs, suggests alternatives, and provides solutions to colleagues and customers.
2. Collates, sorts, and organizes customer orders, and prioritizes workflows.
3. Assists in the delivery and pick up of customer orders.
4. Ensures high levels of quality during and after the production process.
5. Ensures University standards of corporate identity and branding are maintained.
6. Sets up complex orders and efficiently performs multiple tasks.
7. Takes responsibility for digital imaging, scheduling and running black and white or color production on full-service orders, including finishing services and large job management.
8. Processes customer orders, provides information on printing materials to help guide the quote-setting process, answers customers' inquiries and follow up regarding their orders, recommends products and services, tracks and documents all production jobs.
9. Demonstrates friendly, polite, and expert service to all customers.
10. Manages production workflow to ensure all orders are completed correctly and on time.
11. Operates production machines and document finishing equipment, including, but not limited to: digital press, bindery equipment, cutters and laminators.

  • Ability to assist in the installation of large format vinyl graphics, such as wall wraps and automotive decals.
  • Experience in operating digital presses, and document finishing equipment (such as cutters, bindery equipment and laminators etc.)
  • Knowledge of relevant software applications such as: Adobe Creative Suite, Fiery Print Manager, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of BCC software application for the bulk rate mailing process.

The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. Requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate computer keyboard or other office equipment. Requires visual acuity to read words and numbers and speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate in person or over the phone. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment, with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in the digital printing environment required.
