The LVN will: 

  • Direct and coordinate activities of aides
  • Perform basic daily nursing functions
  • Administer proper medications
  • Provide the nursing needs of our residents in an efficient, economical, and caring manner, while maintaining high standards and quality care

  • Graduation from an accredited vocational school of nursing and current Texas LVN license required.
  • Training or experience in geriatric, psychiatric or medical/surgical nursing preferred.
  • Knowledgeable of human development, including the processes of aging, and of social and health problems confronting older persons.
  • Models MRC's ICARE Values of Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence.
  • Ability to recognize behavior deviations from the norm; to cope with all emergencies in a calm manner and to deal comfortably with chronically ill aged.
  • Ability to communicate professionally, respectfully and tactfully in all situations.
