Remote BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) – ABA Analyst / Utilization Review (Medical Necessity) – $70/hr

Location: Remote (U.S.) – PST time zone preferred
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (PST-aligned preferred)

Summary


Hiring an experienced BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) for a remote ABA Analyst role supporting a Behavioral Health Treatment (BHT) / Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) program for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This BCBA opportunity focuses on medical necessity review, clinical documentation review, utilization management support, and provider collaboration in a regulated environment. Candidates must have experience working in a large healthcare delivery system (hospital network, health plan/managed care organization, or public-sector healthcare system). Private clinic-only experience will not be considered.


Responsibilities


  • Review FBA/ABA assessments and ABA treatment plans for best-practice alignment and medical necessity criteria
  • Review diagnostic evaluations/assessments to confirm recommendations for BHT/ABA services
  • Support utilization management workflows for ABA/BHT services in an EPSDT program setting
  • Communicate with providers and internal clinical teams to clarify documentation, resolve barriers, and support timely access to services
  • Support delegated oversight activities, compliance documentation, and audit-ready file maintenance
  • Develop and maintain workflows, documentation standards, and operational process guides for ABA program support
  • Prepare reports and documentation to meet regulatory, contractual, and accreditation requirements (ex: NCQA-aligned needs)
  • Provide BCBA subject matter expertise to multidisciplinary teams (case management, triage, navigation, behavioral health)


Qualifications


  • Active BCBA or BCBA-D certification (required)
  • 3+ years providing ABA/BHT services to pediatric ASD population (required)
  • Required: Experience in a large healthcare delivery system (examples: integrated health system, hospital network, managed care/health plan, Medicaid/public-sector healthcare organization)
  • Experience with clinical documentation review, treatment plan review, and guideline-based decision making (required)
  • Knowledge of EPSDT, medical necessity, and utilization concepts (preferred)
  • Strong written communication, documentation accuracy, and stakeholder collaboration skills (required)
  • Master’s degree or higher in Psychology, Social Work, MFT, Education, or related field (preferred)
