ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY


As a Retail Property Designer, you will bring Flight Centre Travel Group's retail brands to life through innovative shop fit outs and refurbishments across Australia.

You'll play a key role in shaping customer experiences through thoughtful design, precise documentation, and collaboration with stakeholders.

Working alongside our Fit Out & Project Management Team, you will deliver high-quality design solutions that translate seamlessly into construction.

This is your opportunity to influence retail environments at scale while growing your design career.

This role is for an initial 12 month contract.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

 

  • Design and document retail shop fit outs for new, relocated, and refurbished store environments
  • Produce detailed construction documentation to support onsite builders and contractors
  • Develop complete documentation packages including floor plans, joinery, ceiling plans, elevations, and finishes
  • Prepare electrical and data layouts, signage details, and construction specifications
  • Manage end-to-end documentation delivery for retail brand projects
  • Collaborate with internal teams, landlords, shopping centres, councils, and external stakeholders
  • Ensure all designs align with BCA and Australian Standards
  • Interpret tenancy guidelines and regulatory requirements to inform design outcomes

 

 

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in retail shop design and specification
  • Experience designing commercial floor space (desirable)
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or REVIT
  • Strong drafting experience in retail design
  • Knowledge of retail fit out processes and construction detailing (desirable)
  • Ability to interpret tenancy guidelines and council regulations
  • Undergraduate degree or minimum Cert IV in Interior Design/building-related discipline
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills
