What are BBIs?

BBI typically stands for 'Behavior-Based Interview' or 'Behavioral-Based Interview.' In a professional context, BBIs are interviews that focus on how a candidate has handled various situations in the past, with the belief that past behavior is the best predictor of future performance. Employers use BBIs to assess a candidate's competencies, skills, and suitability for a specific role by asking them to provide examples of how they have demonstrated certain behaviors in previous jobs. These interviews often use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to structure responses. BBIs are widely used across many industries during the hiring process.
