Job description

Job Title: Student Worker - Baylor Experience and Admissions Representative (BEAR)

Job Classification: Business Operations, Student

Department: Undergraduate Admissions

Work Schedule: Minimum 8 hours per week, between 7:30am-5:30 pm, including some weekend events 

Desired Length of Employment: summer or fall/ongoing 

Pay Rate: $10.00

  • Perform business operations duties for assigned area of responsibility 
  • Provide excellent customer service to clients  
  • Ability to prioritize and take initiative 
  • Assist with various projects, activities and tasks related to business operations

  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance 

Job Description:

The Baylor Experience and Admissions Representatives (BEARs) are a select group of students who work with Baylor Undergraduate Admissions. BEARs go above and beyond to serve guests and ultimately display the values and character of the Baylor family. These students share their Baylor experience with prospective students, parents, and other university guests in order to facilitate and enhance student recruitment for Baylor University. BEARs will work out of the Hurd Welcome Center. BEARs are paid $10 an hour and there are opportunities for raises and leadership roles. Work schedules are flexible and built around your class schedule and availability.  

Minimum Expectation & Requirements:
Candidates seeking to become team members should actively demonstrate enthusiasm, excellent communication skills, dependability, responsibility, respect for self and for others, leadership skills, and most importantly, pride for Baylor University. In addition, candidates must meet the following requirements: 

  • Be enrolled as a full-time student (12 credit hours minimum) at Baylor University. 
  • Work at least 8 hours per week and 5 weekend events per semester.   
  • Attend all mandatory trainings and subsequent staff meetings. 
  • Exhibit professionalism and excellence in all things, including appearance, co-worker interactions, and guest interactions. 
  • Must be able to conduct a 90-minute walking tour of campus, drive a golf cart shuttle (after approval from Baylor Risk Management), stand for extended periods, lift about 10-15 pounds, and assist with set up and tear down of recruitment events. 
  • Start Summer 2026 or Fall 2026 Semester
