14542 - Project Engineer, Thermal Management (remote) - Juno Beach,FL
Start Date: ASAP
Type: Temporary Project
Estimated Duration: 12 months with possible extensions
Work Setting: Remote, Juno Beach, FL is preferred
Required:
Engineering experience (5+ years)
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program
Preferred:
Expertise in thermal management for energy storage systems, including one or more of: hydronic HVAC, air-cooled HVAC, battery heat generation/dissipation, or BESS design
Experience with VRF, hydronic, and air-side HVAC systems
Experience with energy storage technologies, including battery chemistries, power conversion units, and DC/DC converters
Experience with relevant safety standards: UL1973, UL9540, UL9540A, NFPA 855, NFPA 70E, NEC, and applicable IFC/IBC sections
Responsibilities:
Evaluate design aspects of major components for utility-scale energy storage projects
Prepare technical scopes of work for thermal management studies and designs for incorporation into contract documents
Support projects from conception through commissioning, including on-site commissioning activities
Provide engineering guidance to project teams and oversee external Engineers of Record
Collaborate with suppliers on equipment sizing, controls, technology compatibility, and integration
Partner with multi-disciplined teams on problem solving, system integration, and process improvement
Identify value engineering opportunities and track emerging technologies
