Who we're looking for

Toyota's EES PACCC Department seeks a passionate and highly motivated Assembly Controls Engineer.

The primary responsibility of this role is to lead and manage new model projects from all aspects of PACCC engineering in Toyota's North American Manufacturing Shops.

Reporting to the Manager, the person in this role will support the PACCC Engineering department's objective to provide new Control System to the manufacturing facilities which meet all targets for Safety, Quality, Productivity and Cost.

  • Design and Manage Control System Projects within Assembly and Battery Pack Shops.

  • Design and implement control algorithms and software programs for machine control and data collection systems.

  • Perform control algorithms and software for complex systems.

  • Perform feature and integration builds of software.

  • Manage strategic business plans aligning with department hoshin for Assembly Production Information system.

  • Study past project and/or operation performance to determine areas of improvement, perform root cause analysis, and implement kaizens to improve performance.

  • Negotiate and collaborate with cross functional divisions / departments to ensure One voice and direction is set to achieve company objectives and decision making.

  • Support Assembly and Battery Pack Engineering planning and regional teams with model change implementation, Hoshin initiatives and innovation.

What you bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer, Electrical, Industrial engineering or Associate's Degree in Technical field with equivalent 5 year's work experience

  • 2 Years Experience with Information Systems - Networking [FLNet, Ethernet IP]

  • 2 Years Experience with Information Systems - Data Collection [QIS, EDC, MDT]

  • 2 Years Experience with Production Line control, Indication of status, Collection of Downtime events, Event Communication - Reporting, Visualization and Callout

  • 2 Years Experience with Production Equipment procurement, installation and/or confirmation

  • 2 Years Experience with PLC Programming such as Toyopuc, Omron and Rockwell

  • Ability to work weekends, holiday periods, and shutdown periods to support tooling modification and installation projects

  • Ability to travel 30% to support work at machine vendors, Toyota manufacturing locations, and occasionally in Japan. Dispatch to another site (~1 year) is likely to support project needs

Added Bonus if you have

  • 2+ yrs experience in Body Weld, Chassis Weld, or Case Weld (T/M or contractor), PACCC, Vehicle Assembly

  • Manufacturing Plant Experience

  • Experience in Other Production Engineering Functions

  • Experience in Vehicle, Battery Module and Battery Pack production
