Job Description

The primary responsibility of the Interface/Batch/Architecture Specialist is to ensure tha batch processing completes successfully on daily basis in addition the next day batch jobs are loaded in scheduling tool. Any changes required to batch for that day would need to be communicated to NG team and would need to be verified, this include additional dependencies, restarts, etc. In addition if any adhoc or ABEND jobs would require to be based on the established operational Run Book and other operational documentation to manage the scheduling of production batch jobs/schedules.

Desire exposure of 2 to 3 years working with PeopleSoft with understanding of high level core processing in one of the modules AP, AR, GL etc.

Exposure of working within PeopleSoft using tools like PeopleTools, PS query and SQL etc. 

Performs batch monitoring and restarts consisting of verifying batch jobs start as scheduled, monitoring scheduled production batch jobs and resolving batch scheduling conflicts

Monitors scheduler related incidents and develop and recommend changes to the scheduler database

Capable of doing initial research/triaging of Application/Interface job failure using tools available within PeopleSoft or other applications

Schedules batch jobs, as requested by client, that require expedited execution

Notifies client as required in the Run Book or other supporting documentation of success and failure of batch

Performs job restart, as agreed necessary, in accordance with resolution and restart procedures

Performs active maintenance and regular reviews to improve effectiveness of the Run Book 

Adheres to defined batch window for start and completion of batch processing

Analyzes and recommends methods to improve online, operational, batch, and interface performance of the Solution

Ensures that all SLAs related to batch processing are successfully met. 

Communicate with Interface partner on technical issues

Notify functional team of any Interface related issues

Run processes adhoc as and when requested by functional team
