How Youโ€™ll Make an Impact:

As a Laser Marking Technician, you will be responsible for creating, programming, and applying permanent part markings to aerospace components using fiber laser marking equipment. You will work from engineering drawings, CAD files, customer specifications, and quality requirements to ensure accurate, compliant, and traceable markings on production hardware.


This role combines technical machine operation, drawing interpretation, graphic creation, quality verification, and process setup in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment.


What youโ€™ll be doing as a Laser Marking Technician:

  • Working a full-time, onsite position at our Sumner, WA location.
  • Set up, program, and operate fiber laser marking equipment, including Epilog laser systems.
  • Create and edit laser marking layouts, graphics, logos, serial numbers, UID/Data Matrix codes, and identification markings.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, blueprints, customer specifications, and work instructions.
  • Import and manipulate CAD files, DXF files, and artwork for laser marking applications.
  • Verify marking content, location, size, orientation, and legibility in accordance with customer and quality requirements.
  • Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections of marked parts.
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace traceability, serialization, and product identification requirements.
  • Select and configure appropriate laser parameters, fixtures, and setups based on material type and customer specifications.
  • Maintain production records, travelers, and quality documentation.
  • Troubleshoot marking quality issues and make process adjustments as required.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to laser marking processes, productivity, and quality.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following company safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Production teams to resolve technical issues and meet delivery schedules.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications (Education, skills and experience):

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1โ€“3 years of manufacturing experience in a production environment.
  • Experience operating laser marking, laser engraving, CNC, or similar manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Experience working with CAD files, DXF files, or technical graphics.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn manufacturing software.

Preferred Qualifications (Education, skills and experience):

  • Experience operating Epilog Fiber Laser systems.
  • Aerospace, defense, medical device, or other regulated manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with UID marking, serialization, and product traceability requirements.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 quality systems and aerospace drawing interpretation.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, or similar software.

The Part Marking Technician Compensation range for onsite Washington applicants is $20 - 25 per hour commensurate with experience. Some shifts may include shift differential pay rates. Other site ranges may differ.
